PSHE

In PSHE, we will be exploring the topic of healthy eating and how different eating habits will affect our health. We will learn about the Eatwell Guide, which will help us understand how to balance the different food groups for a healthy diet. The guide shows us that we should eat a variety of foods, including plenty of fruits and vegetables, carbohydrates like rice and pasta, and proteins like meat, fish, and beans. It will also teach us to enjoy foods like dairy and fats in smaller amounts. We will discuss how making healthy food choices will give us more energy, help us grow, and keep our bodies strong. Alongside healthy eating, we will also learn how regular exercise, such as walking, running, or playing sports, is important for our health. When we combine good food choices with staying active, we will feel our best and look after our bodies.

RE- Sacred texts.

In Religious Education, we will be studying Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, and other worldviews, focusing on the role of sacred texts and teachings in these religions. We will explore the Bible, the Torah, and the Quran, learning about their importance and how they guide the beliefs and practices of each faith. Through studying these sacred texts, we will analyse both the similarities and differences between them, examining how each text teaches values such as kindness, respect, and justice. By comparing stories and teachings, we will gain a deeper understanding of how different religions view the world and how these texts shape the lives of their followers. This exploration will help us appreciate the shared beliefs that bring people together, as well as the unique differences that make each religion special.

History- Anglo Saxons

In history, we are continuing on with our project on Anglo -Saxons! They came from parts of Northern Europe, especially places we now call Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands. They sailed across the sea to England after the Romans left and made it their home.

The Anglo-Saxons lived in small villages with houses made from wood and straw. They were farmers, growing crops and raising animals, and they loved storytelling and crafts like jewel making. They were also known for their brave warriors and had many exciting battles.

One of the most famous Anglo-Saxon kings was King Alfred the Great, who helped defend England from Viking invasions and made many improvements to his kingdom. The Anglo-Saxons also believed in many gods, but over time, they became Christians and built churches.

Their time ended in 1066 when they were conquered by the Normans in the Battle of Hastings, but their influence can still be seen in England today, especially in place names and some English words.
